Our spirits will not be broken! Despite all the challenges, we held our annual Persian BIBI picnic 6/22 at Lake Chabot Park. Planned months ago, it turned out to be a perfect day to be in community with one another; considering the recent bombing attacks on our homeland. At this time of heightened emotions and collective trauma, we needed each other for support and camaraderie. In small groups, the attendees shared concerns, fears, anxieties and stories. It was helpful and heartwarming!
