Guest Speaker: Dr. Reihaneh (Rei) Samsam and Samin Mirzaghanbarpour

Dr. Reihaneh (Rei) Samsami is the Tagliatela Family Endowed Assistant Professor of Construction Engineering and Management and Coordinator of the M.S. in Construction Engineering and Management program at the University of New Haven. She brings more than 10 years of experience in academia, transportation infrastructure, construction technology, and applied artificial intelligence. Her research focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), computer vision, Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twins, and data-driven decision support to advance infrastructure inspection, construction monitoring, and asset management. She collaborates with Departments of Transportation (DOTs), industry partners, and public agencies to develop practical solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Samin Mirzaghanbarpour is a graduate student in Construction Engineering and Management at the University of New Haven and a Construction Management Intern at EnTech Engineering. Her research focuses on the application of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and photogrammetry for infrastructure inspection and asset management. She has presented her research at the ASCE ICTD Conference, with work emphasizing the use of UAS and photogrammetry software to improve infrastructure inspection, sustainability, and decision-making. She is passionate about bridging academic research with practical engineering solutions to advance the future of infrastructure management.
